Sweep stores data on your device to provide the app’s core features. Photo library scanning, file browsing, and cleanup all happen on your device. Sweep does not upload your photos, videos, or files to our servers.
Data the app uses
Photo library
If you allow access to your photo library, Sweep reads photos and videos on your device to find items that may be taking up space — for example screenshots, screen recordings, near-duplicate photos, large media, and Live Photos.
This access is used only to:
- Scan and categorise items in your library
- Show sizes and previews so you can review them
- Delete items you choose (they move to Recently Deleted in Photos)
- Convert Live Photos to still images when you choose that action
Your photo library is not uploaded and is not sent to us.
Files and folders
If you use the Files tab and choose a folder, Sweep can read that folder to find large files and delete files you select. Folder access is granted through the system file picker. Deletes from the Files tab remove files immediately and cannot be undone by Sweep.
A bookmark for a folder you choose may be stored on your device so Sweep can reopen it later. That bookmark stays on your device.
On-device app data
Sweep may store small amounts of data locally on your device, such as:
- Scan results or caches used to show categories faster
- A running total of space you have reclaimed in the app
- Simple preferences (for example whether you have completed an onboarding tip)
This data stays on your device.
Purchases
If you buy a subscription or in-app purchase, payment is handled by Apple. Sweep uses Apple’s StoreKit APIs to check entitlements. We do not receive your full payment card details.
We do not sell, or use your data for anything else
- We do not sell your data
- We do not use analytics or advertising SDKs in the app
- We do not track you across apps or websites
- We do not upload your photos, videos, or chosen files to our servers
Support form on this website
If you submit the support form on this site, the information you enter (such as title, description, and optional name or email) is sent to us so we can respond. That contact information is only used to handle your request.
Removing your data
To remove Sweep’s on-device data, delete the app. That removes local caches, preferences, and tallies stored by Sweep.
Deleting photos or files from inside Sweep follows the behaviour described above (Recently Deleted for Photos; permanent removal for Files). Sweep does not keep a copy of deleted media.
The app is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
